not an artist
I am not the best artist in the world may even be the worse when it comes to drawing a comic. But I think making it like a comic book is that only way to get my message through because I don’t have any pictures of the event that I am talking about. Does anyone have any advice to give me on that? I know we can just draw stick figures but if I do I don’t believe my graphic memoir will be taken seriously and my message wouldn’t get through to the audience. Would you as an audience look at my memoir different if it were just stick figures instead of a comic like characters? If so what should I do instead of stick figures? Is there a place where you can get comic book characters to use for this anyone know?

Hmm, you could always stage some of the pictures. That's what I'm going to have to do for a few of my frames. Or you could use photoshop to combine pictures that you find on the creative commons website. I guess it all depends on the story you're telling.
