Comp 2
Wow. That was definitely harder than I thought it would be. Analyzing a graphic memoir sounded easy enough but not after I tried to do my own. I felt like I understood what the author was trying to get across but showing how her strategies worked toward achieving her purpose was a challenge. I felt like I was just listing the strategies and from there on...was just a lot of confusion. It is funny how after the discussion in class about how to go about writing a rhetorical analysis, I felt good about the task. But once I got home and really looked at my essay--it was scary. However, I liked that we had a chance to look at other memoirs than the ones that we study in class, though. Oh well, now I have to start attacking my graphic memoir. Hopefully, that should be a lot of fun...

You are not alone Kayan in feeling this way. I first read over the projection description and thought, "This will be easy, we have been doing this forever!" But that was not so much the case. I think that Kate has taught all of us a lot more about rhetorical analysis, or atleast me, so even though I have done this several times in the past, as i look back, I feel as though I was doing it all wrong. Although I feel a bit uneasy with my analysis, don't forget we have the opportunity to revise and resubmit!
