Final Words on Persepolis
Overall the memoir was good as a whole. Yes, I had my complaints about the way the story was presented in its style and other factors but you have to respect the author and her work, after all she did win many awards with the book and production of her movie. I felt that Satrapi did a wonderful job of remaining credibility with the reader because she seemed to represent herself throughout the years as true as she could through text and pictures. Like stated in class it was kind of hard to relate to because we did not know much about the Iranian revolution and there was not much background info given in introduction to the book. This could have been done on purpose by Satrapi in an attempt to give a reader with no background info and bias a true look into what it was like for a girl her age living through the Iranian Revolution.

When I was reading the memoir I must admit that I didn't like it at all. I think that Satrapi's work was very well done and she employed various elements of comics to make the piece what it was. I think that the biggest problem with my dislike of the memoir has nothing to do with the author or the piece itself, but rather just my own personal taste.
