Memoir

I am trying to convince myself that assignment 4 should be fun, and not stressful, but I’m not doing a very good job of it. I decided that I wanted to draw my comic out because I figured it would be easier than manipulating photos. I have found that I keep changing the style of my drawings for some reason, so I’m currently working on trying to be consistent in my style so that they all flow. I have also been thinking about the text in my memoir. I think it would be a personal touch to have my own handwriting be the text of my memoir, but I do not want it to look too messy, or illegible when the frames get scanned to a computer. I also think it might look funny if I had perfectly round speech and though bubbles, with perfect font, attached to a picture that is not so perfectly drawn out. What do you guys think?

  1. I think that it might look better and more consistent if you wrote the text and drew out the speech/thought bubbles since you are hand drawing the comic. But this might be a lot of work for the last week so you could also just pick a font that you think resembles your handwriting, since there are so many to pick from.

  2. I am having a similar dilemma. Lacking a ton of pictures, drawing is my best option because I am not terribly computer savvy. Also, I feel this adds a personal touch to the story. I think I may just print off blank frames and draw within those boundaries to try to get some consistency, because like you I am worried the scanning might make the images appear messy. Overall I think keeping it simple and not trying to create a masterpiece is each frame will help

  3. I love your idea, but personally i have changed my pictures so much that i believe it will just cause a big headache for you. You should try using the program paint, it has helped me a lot!

  4. I didn't really change any of my pictures because alot of my pictures were from nature and I did not really feel the need to alter my pictures in any way.
