page 115
I thought page 115 of the second volume was a very interesting and different page. The frames are interrupted by the multitude of pictures that Vladek is showing Art. He talks about Anja's brother, Josef, who ended up commiting suicide. There's a picture of Josef and the woman that he's sitting with has been burned out of the picture. I find this very interesting. It makes me wonder who was mad enough to do that. The pictures cut into the speech bubbles and the frames, which show their importance. Further down the page, the entire bottom is consumed by overlapping pictures of the family. I feel that this really puts you in Art and Vladek's shoes, almost overwhelmed by the pictures and the memories.
