Last Words
My whole graphic memoir has been made from scratch with pencil drawings. Now that I have gotten to the point of scanning and importing them into the Comic LIfe software, I have noticed an interesting dilemma. I drew the whole thing while keeping in mind that I would add all of the dialogue and bubbles with Comic Life, but now I am having trouble remembering what I was going to have the characters say. I know I had an idea of the perfect lines at each sequence, but it does not seem as easy as I thought it would be. Also, since I am adding in the text I can now see where I could have made some adjustments to the drawings to better illustrate what the characters are saying. It seems like you could go back and forth between the drawings and the text for a long time; however, it needs to come to an end quickly. I think it is turning out alright, though. I hope everyone's memoirs are coming along well, and good luck on exams!

I did the exact opposite thing as you and now am having the opposite problem which is kind of funny. I ended up scripting the story in comiclife first and drawing it second and now i can't remember what i was going to draw for all the images. Hope everything turns out alright with yours.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you guys are having those troubles! I am using photographs as my illustrations and it is getting a bit frustrating with the speech bubble that I can’t place them how I want. I wish I was able to go back in time and ask who was in the pictures to move a little to the right or left so that the speech bubble would fit where I wanted it to go.
